Night Shelter
Bristol Churches Shelter is a church collaboration in Bristol tackling homelessness during winter (November through to March). This ensures that homeless people have somewhere safe and warm to sleep during winter, and especially at Christmastime. An evening meal and breakfast is usually provided, although different churches offer what they are able to depending on volunteer availability. Ivy Church Finance
Ivy Church is a charity (number 1050613). Our income comes from the direct giving of our congregation. We encourage folks to consider carefully how much to give regularly as part of their contribution to God’s work in our area of Bristol; ideally by standing order. We also ask those who are taxpayers to Gift Aid their donation; this contribution from the Government provides about 20% of our income. We support a full time minister and set aside 12.5% of income to support missionaries who we know well. Reports on the finances are presented at every Church Council meeting. We ensure all reports are submitted to the Charity Commission on time. |
