Are You New?

We'd like to extend a very warm welcome to you, especially if you're new to Ivy Church. We have many regular meetings throughout the week, though our main weekly gathering is on Sundays at 10.30am.
FAQs - What, When, Where and How:
What Do We Believe?
That the Bible is our guide for living and is our source for our faith. That God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Father sent his Son to die in our place. Jesus, the Son, died and rose again and is available to be our friend, Lord and Saviour. The Holy Spirit is available to support, empower us for life and service.

That Jesus Christ lived an amazing life and died a terrible willing death for us. He was resurrected and returned to his Father in heaven. And that he is coming again one day to take his people home.

That we have all sinned in thought word and deed and need God’s forgiveness, but that we can receive salvation (forgiveness/new birth) by putting our trust in the Lord Jesus. That if we have put our faith in Jesus (become believers) we should be baptised in water.

That the Holy Spirit helps us to change and become better people and that the Holy Spirit gives special gifts to enable us to serve others. That healing, encouragement, peace, help and strength are available through prayer and laying on hands. That it is our privilege to take bread and wine (Holy Communion) in honour of Jesus’ death, resurrection and promised return.

That one day Jesus will judge the world, removing evil and that those who have put their trust in Him will enjoy eternal life.
How accessible is the building?
The main areas of the building are wheelchair accessible. The main entrance to the side of the older parts of the church is level with a small downhill gradient towards the double doors. However, there is a small lip across the threshold. It does not pose any major issues for our motorised and manual wheelchair users. We have a fully accessible disabled toilet.
For more details, please refer to our ACCESS STATEMENT
What Is Meant By All-Age?
The term All-Age refers to anyone any age, whether single or married. The last Sunday each month is our All-Age Worship service, where everyone - children, young people or adults, remain  throughout  the whole service.
Where is the best place to park my car?
There are parking spaces available in surrounding roads (Lower Cheltenham Place, Cumberland Grove, Ashley Hill) and in the small car park adjacent to the church.
How long does the service last and what happens?
The  Sunday service starts at 10.30am with a short time of worship and prayer. There will then be a message for young children, who come to sit at the front of the church if they want to, then they will go off to Sunday School.  The pastor or guest speaker will then give a message to those still present in the church. The meeting usually finishes around noon, and is followed by refreshments at the back of the church.

When is the best time to arrive on Sunday mornings?
Our Sunday service starts at 10.30am, though the church is normally opened up by 10.00am. Please feel free to come along a few minutes early to meet early comers and find a seat. Refreshments are served immediately after the service.
What happens on the last Sunday each month during and after the All-Age Worship service?
On the last Sunday each month, we hold an All-Age Worship service and share a meal together afterwards. The meeting structure is similar to other weeks, with the omission of Holy Communion. Visitors are very welcome to join us for the meal, and get to know members.
Are We Friendly?
Yes! We are a very warm and welcoming crowd. If you are new,  expect to be approached by friendly church members who'll  help you feel at ease and welcome.
Who Is Welcome to Attend?
Everyone and anyone is welcome to attend Ivy Church regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, culture, beliefs, marital status etc.c.
